TNR looks out for interesting art and artists that use Route 66, the Pacific Coast Highway, or any other highway theme in their work. This week we've found a unique and colorful artist named Michael Baum.

The whimsical look of Michael's "Whimsical West" series reflects the color and fun of the road trip. The liquefied scenery gives the unique images movement, although they are static at the same time.

His "Ghost Station" is reminiscent of Edward Hopper's work with it's starkness and simple storytelling with an instant captured in time.

Born in Tulsa Oklahoma (home to several famous Route 66 inspired artists) His early road trips became the inspiration for his latter work.
