Small towns have always been a prime spot to seek out interesting and unique neon signs. In Chinook, Montana, there's a lady in the glass on this bar sign...and good food to go!
After a 16 year effort to restore the sign, Anita Magnuson has brought together donors and banks to purchase the sign for $1,500, in 1994. After years of fundraisers, contests, and t-shirt sales, the sign began its new life. Several companies from around the area helped restore the neon tubes and wiring.
The sign is now in its original location on a building now owned by Don and Jill Leo.
The sign is not fully restored, there is still the kickin' part that needs work. But it seems that the town of Chinook will once again come to the aid of a lady in distress.
