When one thinks of a trailer park it often comes with a thought of missing teeth and muumuus. But out in California's Mohave Desert there is a unique trailer park that is actually a motel. And it's a secret, they won't tell you where it is at until you make a reservation (they only hint that it is a 2 hour drive from Los Angeles!).

Hicksvile Trailer Palace is billed as an artist's retreat where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life and live in a uniquely referbished travel trailer for a few days. The only way you can see it now and learn about it is through their website ( http://www.hicksville.com ).

The Fifi Trailer

There are nine themed trailers to choose from. Each has a unique name and style ranging from the genie bottle themed "Fifi" to the western themed "Pioneer". Other trailers have an alien theme, 70's theme, and "The New World" named after film maker Roger Corman's Studio (it comes with it's own film editing system).

The Pioneer Trailer

The listed amenities range from a solar heated saltwater pool, BBQ and Bistro Area, Free WiFi, Doggie Area (they are pet friendly), and outdoor shower.

There is even a Bar Trailer for parties and events.

Keep in mind this is in the middle of the desert so summers will be very warm, but it is a good time to see sunsets and stars. Each trailer has air and heat.

For reservations and more information visit the Hicksville website at http://www.hicksville.com .
